Version: 2.4.3 (using KDE 4.4.3) OS: Linux It works fine if you select the text and copy it from the context menu (Context menu -> Copy) but it does not "properly" copy the text to clipboard through the shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+C). The problem is that through the shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+C) text gets copied to the clipboard, but it is not re-usable anymore; it does not appear on a clipboard manager, e.g. Klipper. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Fire up Konsole 2. Select some text 3. Copy it through the shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+C) 4. Check Klipper for clipboard history Actual Results: Data does not appear on Klipper's history Expected Results: Data should appear on Klipper's history; as it does when you copy the text from the context menu
Are you using settings > ignore selection ?
(In reply to comment #1) > Are you using settings > ignore selection ? Yes I am using it, but it still should copy the text when you use the shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+C). It is just a shortcut to the "Copy" action. Cheers.
The shortcut and the "Copy" action are inconsistent. "Only text selection" might be a better choice.
(In reply to comment #3) > The shortcut and the "Copy" action are inconsistent. Why is that? Shouldn't both of them trigger the same action? > "Only text selection" might be a better choice. Thanks for the workaround, but still I make too many accidental text selects; clipboard history is really important to me. I have to right-click all the time.
This appears to work for me on my 4.6.x system. Re-open if you can reproduce using a 4.6 system.
