Description alyosha.be 2010-06-15 01:07:00 UTC
Version: 1.2.0
OS: Linux

It appears that tags, comments, and authors (basically everything in the "Captions/Tags" sidebar) are not saved as EXIF or whatever metadata but rather written to the databases.

I tested this by setting the fields to a certain image, then moving the databases to

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Find a picture and set some "Captions/Tags" fields (set a tag and a comment).
2. Close digikam and move the digikam database files one directory level higher.
3. Open digikam and find that the metadata is lost.
4. Move the database files back to where they were.
5. Open digikam and find that the metadata is back.

Actual Results:
It is demonstrated that metadata such as comments and authors of the the comment (and tags too) is stored in digikam database files.

Expected Results:
Digikam should have stored metadata such as comments and authors of the comment (and tags too) in the file's metadata.

Yes, I seemed to have the wrong settings there...
