Dolphin displays correctly m4a files. Amrok tries to display files in the same folder.

Version:           2.3.1 (using KDE 4.3.5) 
OS:                Linux

If you use the file browser of amarok to go into a directory which contains m4a files, file browser display nothing.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1/Open amarok
2/Go to Files item
3/Browse to directory with m4a files
4/Take note that browser display nothing

Actual Results:  
Amarok file browser does not display m4a files

Expected Results:  
Amarok file browser should display m4a files

Please make sure you have all necessary codecs installed, most distribution don't ship these codecs by default for legal reasons. Else, ask your distribution where to find these codecs.

It definitely works here.

I can confirm that this is a bug.

I CAN play .m4a files in Amarok, but it will NOT list them in the file browser.

I have faad2 installed, on the following system

kernel 3.3
openSUSE 12.1 (x86_64)
KDE 4.7.2

Amarok 2.4.3
