Description Japs 2010-06-13 15:50:05 UTC
Application: dragon (2.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2)
Qt Version: 4.6.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-22-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
I opened a few-second long .avi clip (i can provide it upon request). The automatic resizing of the player's window shows about a quarter of the actual clip, say quadrant from 9h to 12h. Then the application crashes unexpectedly.

The behaviour is perfectly reproducible. Unfortunately i don't have clips of other format to see if they crash, too.

This happened on a Kubuntu Lucid machine with all the official updates installed.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Update: After reporting the bug i watched the same exact video on Dolphin previewer and it worked fine.
Comment 2 Martin Sandsmark 2010-06-29 21:54:27 UTC
can you consistently reproduce this, even with the latest Qt?
Comment 3 Japs 2010-07-03 10:12:32 UTC
Unfortunately right now i'm away from my computer and therefore i
can't answer your question. i shall be back in about a week and look into it.

regarsds,
j

Comment 4 Japs 2010-07-09 13:04:42 UTC
Hi there, I updated my system by adding to the sources ppa:kubuntu-ppa and running a safe-upgrade. Here is my new configuration

Application: dragon (2.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5)
Qt Version: 4.6.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-23-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

There are some improvements: the video is now fully played and there are no more weird artefacts when the window self-resizes. The program now crashes when, at the end of the playback, I click on either the play button to play again or the close button on the title bar to close the window. Unfortunately the KDE crash handler was unable to find the debugging packages, therefore the following backtrace will serve very little help, I'm afraid. I send it nevertheless, and if anyone wants to send me a few instructions on where to find the dbg packages, I shall be glad to help.
Thank you and best regards,
Jacopo
