Description Phil Rigby 2010-06-11 22:16:09 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

Since moving to 4.5 beta 2 (4.4.85) whenever I log off/shutdown, plasma will crash. The log off completes. When I log back in, I have a black background where wallpaper should be, and my desktop widgets (temp and folder) are missing. If I "add widgets", both of those are checked but they are not on screen. I can consistently reproduce this. Also, I created a brand new user and the same thing happens, and on 2 -totally- seperate machines. Beta 1 was fine, beta 2 has this issue.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Set wallpaper, set widgets. Work. Log off, plasma crashes. Continue, log back in. All changes lost.

Actual Results:
Any custom settings are lost, even ones made before upgrading.

Expected Results:
To keep my widgets!

Running kernel 2.6.34, Fedora 13, 64-bit AMD. Oxygen theme.

"plasma will crash."

please do a "kquitapp plasma-desktop" from a konsole window and get a backtrace of the crash for this report.

" When I log back in, I have a black background

missing."

a new activity is getting created each time. this bug was already fixed, though it's hard to know if the version you are using contains that fix. are you using per-virtual-desktop activities, or have more than one screen?
