Description mmdanziger 2010-06-08 17:15:13 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux

In gameplay, the hovering stones aren't rendered fully (only fractionally) and those fractions of stones linger even when you move the mouse to another spot. Generally, the stones render within a few pixels of the grid lines but not in the middle of the squares. Then, seemingly arbitrarily, they disappear. So every move, the board gets all mucked up with ghost stones and then returns to normal. Really, the fact that the stones don't render properly is worse than the ghost stones remaining on the board though they're both pretty annoying.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Start a game.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-22-generic
Compiler: cc

What distro/kernel/graphics driver are you using? Have you tried to update those?
Comment 2 mmdanziger 2010-06-09 16:51:04 UTC
Using Kubuntu 10.04 with 2.6.32-22-generic #36-Ubuntu and Nvidia 195.36.15. The most recent on their site is 195.36.24--do you really think it's worth it to not use the distro's nvidia package?

I'm not quite sure how to troubleshoot something like this...

Thanks for the response.

GF7900GS, nvidia proprietary, same problem: The board is not redrawn correctly.
Comment 4 Dennis Schridde 2010-08-03 22:22:24 UTC
P.S: Another possibly related glitch: The transparent stone is flickering when being moved.

Bug 242634 could be a duplicate.
Comment 5 mmdanziger 2010-08-03 22:42:41 UTC
For completeness I'm using a GeForce 8400 GS. It does indeed seem to be the same as 242634.
