Created attachment 47735 [details] kdesude error message Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.2) OS: Linux I've created a menu entry that executes a shell wrapper script, which in turn launches an application (Firefox). The menu entry specifies that the script be "run as different user". All this works perfectly. When I log in, however, session management is unable to restore the previous session if Firefox has been running as different user. Instead, Firefox is launched as the logged in user, and kdesude reports an error (see attachment). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Create menu entry as above. Start application as different user via shell script, log out, log in. Actual Results: Application is run as logged in user, kdesude reports error. Expected Results: Restart shell script as different user. Alternatively, restart application as different user.
I assume this is still valid for KDE 4.9.x?
Well, it certainly is for 4.8.4 (Kubuntu 12.04) ...

The error is still present on Kubuntu 18.04, so it is NOT "fixed".
Thank you for reporting this issue in KDE software. As it has been a while since this issue was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the issue with a recent software version? If you can reproduce the issue, please change the status to "REPORTED" when replying. Thank you!
Yes, this issue is still relevant. While I no longer use Run as ... functionality of KDE, I still start some programs with a different user. The next time I logon to my session, all of those programs run under the logon user, not the original user.
