Description jenspen 2010-06-05 09:19:11 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

OS: Linux 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop x86_64
  Current user: barbak@c220-239-65-243
  System: openSUSE 11.2 (x86_64)
  KDE:  4.4.81 (KDE 4.4.81 (KDE 4.5 >= 20100527)) "release 8"
  3D driver: NVIDIA 195.36.15

I drag a FolderView widget to the Desktop and point it at /home/myname/Documents/Textdocuments. When I reboot it is never on the desktop.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Reboot.

Actual Results:
No FolderView on desktop.

Expected Results:
A FolderView on desktop which points to /home/myname/Documents/Textdocuments.

I am using the default Desktop containment setting. I have no other plasmoids on the Desktop. There is no problem until I reboot.

This is probably a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=240061 which is fixed in trunk. You need to update and then delete all activities except current one as the default wallpaper is there because a new activity was created.

Please test with:
- look at how many activities you currently have (activity bar plasmoid)
- add another applet (analog clock, whatever)
- restart plasma (kquitapp plasma-desktop, plasma-desktop in a terminal)
- see if the clock is not there
- see if you have one more activity

If so, please close as duplicate of the above, thanks!
