Description Vitor M. Pereira 2010-06-02 18:18:43 UTC
Version:           unspecified (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS:                Linux

It used to be that overdue tasks appearing in the day/week view would show up as red (default setting), even when those tasks were part of a certain category for which a specific color was defined. However, this useful behavior was lost in the latest releases of korganizer. Tasks due today or overdue never appear with the requested color in the week/day view. They do appear highlighted with the correct color in the To-Do list view, though.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a to-do due in the past;
- Select day or week view;

Actual Results:
To-do appears with the normal color, instead of the overdue color chosen in "settings" -> "colors and fonts".

Expected Results:
To-do should appear with the color chosen in "settings" -> "colors and fonts" for overdue tasks

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32.12-115.fc12.x86_64
Compiler: gcc

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of korganizer (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.

I did not see a reopen button or anything so I'll try commenting first and creating a new bug if no activity occurs.

Using openSUSE Tumbleweed updated to Korganizer version 5.4.1; it is happening as described above.

One of my todos just went "due today", and the "due today" color is correctly applied: The todo would be blue category-wise (and was blue until yesterday), but is painted in orange now.

I also created a mock todo that is due yesterday, with the same category, and it is painted in red.

This is 5.5.3. However, I don't think that anything regarding colors was done in KOrganizer since 5.4.1.

Boian: Is it possible that you hit another issue? Did you take the exact steps from the original report, creating a completely new todo due in the past? Could it be related to your config being migrated from KOrganizer 4.x to 5.x?

Denis,

I create to-dos in Korganizer every day and I have some overdue today. I usually don't create then in the past, so it's not necessary the same issue. This is a openSUSE Tumbleweed install and I don't think it ever had 4.x on it. I also had to erase the Akonadi database, all of the Kontact configuration, and cache once this year and start fresh, so if it's stale data, it's from sometime this year.

Korganizer reports 5.5.3. Tumbleweed is up to date as of last week.

If you think it's distro-specific breakage, I'll file over there. I don't remember the last time this worked, on any distro I used, so I thought I should post here.

Denis, does comment #5 provide the requested information? Please set the bug status.

No response; changing status.

I found the setting in "KOrganizer View Configuration" > "General" tab > "Display Options" panel > "[ ] To-Dos use category colors."

There is a tooltip help message that explains it.

I would change it to "To-Dos always use category colors", but that's just my preference.

You can close as FIXED, IMHO.

Thanks for the update; closing.
