On openSUSE 11.3:
$ update-desktop-database
Error in file "/usr/share/applications/kde4/kfontview.desktop": "fonts/package" is an invalid MIME type ("fonts" is an unregistered media type)

The mimetype should be probably application/x-font-package or something conforming.

According to bug 235564, this is a packaging issue.
