Description magist3r 2010-06-01 06:07:36 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

If I close krusader it continues to hang in memory. How many copies of krusader I will open and then close, so much remains in memory. (Sorry for my bad English=))

Reproducible: Always

Same for me.
Debian Squeeze.
Version 2.2.0-beta1 "DeKade"
Using KDE Development Platform 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4)
Comment 4 Sam Protsenko 2010-08-01 13:54:06 UTC
I hate this bug! After reboot KDE starts all pending Krusader processes from previously session.

I saw this bug at https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3015094&group_id=6488&atid=106488

Debian "Squeeze", Krusader 2.2.0-beta1 "DeKade", KDE 4.4.5
Comment 5 Kevin Kofler 2010-08-02 16:15:20 UTC
This should be properly fixed by this July 25 commit: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=revision&revision=1154581
I'll test this fix in the Fedora packages.

I just tested the patch (manually) in Kubuntu Maverick (also Krusader 2.2.0-beta1, using KDE 4.5.1) and it works, Krusader closes and exits the process!
Comment 8 Francesco Davini 2010-11-20 21:23:49 UTC
I have the same problem.
Kubuntu Maverick clean installation. Update (whenever updates available) from official repositories only.
Krusader 2.2.0-beta1 "DeKade"

------- Comment #1 From Alexey Khuraskin 2010-10-14 23:45:21 (-) [reply] -------
Reproduced on krusader version 2.2.0-beta1 "DeKade" from distribution

The problem disappeared after disabling splash-screen
Comment 12 Daniel Hahler 2010-12-06 13:53:50 UTC
Workaround: Disable the splash screen (Setting => Startup => Show splashscreen), see bug 252182.
Comment 13 magist3r 2011-02-01 05:56:33 UTC
It seems that the bug is fixed in 2.2.80.
Comment 14 Kevin Kofler 2011-02-01 10:40:05 UTC
2.3.0-beta1 has a different, "better" according to the developers, fix for this issue, so this is quite possible. See:

Ok then, a beginner's question: how can I apply the patch? is it the .cpp file mentioned in Comment#5 ?
Comment 18 Kevin Kofler 2011-03-05 17:39:51 UTC
Just update to 2.3.0-beta1, it already has that fix.
