Description donnacappuccina 2010-05-26 14:29:31 UTC
Version: 1.12.2 (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux

When I receive signed emails stemming from outlook clients and want to open it, kmail (standalone or component of kontact, its equal) freezes. If I try to right click on such a mail, KDE freezes completely (alt+ctrl+f1.. doesn't help either, only hard reboot).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open kmail or the mail component in kontact, receive a signed email from an outlook client and select it for opening.

Actual Results:
kmail crashes with segmentation fault, or, in worst case: KDE crashes. Only restart helps.

Expected Results:
Not crashing, just show the email.

Application: Kontact (kontact), signal: Segmentation fault

The backtrace you provided is not helping. Please install the debuginfo packages for kdepim. If you experience the crash again, please post the backtrace here.

Please take a look to http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports to provide a good backtrace

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this version of Kmail has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Please try using the latest version of Kmail to see if your issue persists. If it does, please submit a new bug in "kmail2". Thank you!
