Description Samuele Kaplun 2010-05-25 17:01:42 UTC
Version: 1.13.2 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux

This happens since KDE SC 4.4.x
I previously had a working system in KDE 4.3.5 (and earlier), with POP3 account connected to Exchange 2003 server (keeping last 1 month of messages on the server), using several filters applied only to POP3 accounts.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
Now with migration to akonadi, when emails are automatically fetched (either manually or in my systems every 30minutes), several last emails are fetched again thus creating duplicates.

Please let me know of any debugging information you might need (and which tool I should use to produce them)

I put severity major, as I can't basically not use kmail for working, because all the duplicates email are always signed as new incoming email, and if I use the tool to remove duplicates, sometimes an instance that I have read is left, sometimes not, and so it's now very difficult to track read emails.

Got same here:
Version 1.13.3
KDE 4.4.3 (KDE 4.4.3)

Same here, although removing all filter rules seems to fix it.

POP3 Server (gmx.net)

Kubuntu 10.04
Kontact Version 4.4.2
KMail Version 1.13.2
KDE 4.4.2

One Addition:
The second line of all my mails says "X-Flags: xxxx" with xxxx being any combination of 1s and 0s.

And sometimes (though not always) the duplicate mails seem to differ in the xxxx, e.g one being "1001" and the duplicate being "0000".

Otherwise there 100% identical (checked with diff tool).

This happens to me as well with a POP account of the German Free-mailer GMX.

No troubles with my IMAP accounts.

Kubuntu 10.04
KDE 4.4.90 (KDE 4.5 RC1)
Kontact Version 4.4.5
KMail 1.13.5

maybe caused by overlapping-memcpy in pop3 kioslave. See patch in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230072

Closing this aswell. Works for me after upgrading and no one replied on the last comment.
