Description Ralf Jung 2010-05-22 14:27:22 UTC
Version: 1.0 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-22-generic

My laptop's graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 3200 and I am using the binary frglx driver. The KWin desktop effects work fine, however, when I start the desktop effects configuration module, it says that "Compositing unfortunately is not supported on my system". Which is obviously wrong.
I was only able to enable the effects because the system originally used the open-source drivers, then I set everything up (including a shortcut to temporarily halt compositing), and then I switched drivers. I can't see the slightest issue, nothing - just the settings module does not work, which is obviously rather inconvenient.

This is with KDE 4.4.2, Kubuntu 10.04.
