Version: 1.0.1 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-22-generic partition tool bar inoperative (except properties) after highlighting the partition that I wanted to change. Effectively I could not get the program to work. Also help file malfunction - error message: 'could not find service khelpcenter' displayed, so no help available. Can you help please thanks Rob
Hi Rob, thank you for taking the time to report the issues you have with KDE Partition Manager. first of all, the online handbook is here (hard to find, I agree): http://docs.kde.org/development/en/extragear-sysadmin/partitionmanager/index.html Now, regarding your report: KDE Partition Manager will only allow operations on file systems (and thus, visibly, partitions) that it can find the required tools for. Under View -> File System Support you will find a table showing what file system support tools KDE Partition Manager has found on your system. Also the file system must not be mounted or it cannot be modified at all. What file system did the partition you were going to modify have? Do you have the required tools installed? And are you sure it was not mounted? The KHelpCenter problem sounds like it is unrelated to KDE Partition Manager. You should probably report it to the KUbuntu bug tracking system.
