Version: 3.3 (using KDE 4.4.2) Compiler: cc OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages kpat has some new games added. The names of the games aren't translated, the solver is only in english and some orders are awaylable only in english as for example "restart deal" or "deal row" or "move" The possibility to change the language of the application doesn't show any result. I have this bug since the upgrade to KDE 4.4.2 (from Kubuntu 9.10 to Kubuntu 10.4) and it's the same with Gwenview. All german language packs are installed All applications worked with KDE 4.3.2 Thank you for your answers
Reassigning to German translation team
KPat was completely translated in KDE 4.4.2. Could this be a problem only in ubuntu?
Can you please tell the exact wording of some of the untranslated strings? It might be that they are not extracted for translation.

(In reply to comment #3) > Can you please tell the exact wording of some of the untranslated strings? > It might be that they are not extracted for translation. Hi there I got an e-mail from Burkhard Lueck who told me that all should be translatet, exept of some plugins in Gwenview. On my computer there are many KDE apps like KGeography which was completely in german before, in english exept of Datei, Ansicht, Einstellungen, Hilfe. This is the second time that this occures. When I did an upgrade to Karmic Koala, I had the same problems which where insolvable so I made a complete new installation I fear I have to do this now also
Please do not do that (yet). Can you send in the file "kpat.mo" which most like lies in /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/ This is the compiled translation file. From it we can tell if you have the original KDE translation. Also please check the version of your KDE translation package. Maybe they shipped one from KDE 4.3.
Created attachment 43674 [details] Kpat translation file
(In reply to comment #7) I sent the kpat.mo file which I fond on file:///usr/share/locale-langpack/de/LC_MESSAGES/kpat.mo To check the file versions I have to look in adept or kpackagekit. It surely could be quicker on the bash but I do unfortunately not know the code.
The translation file is complete (110 translated strings). Strings like "Move" or "Solver: ..." are translated. Burkhard, is your Kubuntu freshly installed or upgraded? In any way, this sounds like a problem for the Kubuntu bugtracker.
(In reply to comment #7) The version for language-pack-kde-de is 1:10.04+20100422 The same number also for language-pack-kde-base; language-pack-kde-en; language-pack-de; language-pack-en; language-pack-kde-de-base; language-pack-kde-en-base; but language-support-en and language-support-de have the version-number 1:9.10+20090909 Do I have to remove theese packages ant try to get the newer ones? how?

And no diff between my kpat.mo and you attached kpat.mo. (In reply to comment #10) > > Burkhard, is your Kubuntu freshly installed or upgraded? > fresh install of karmic, then upgrade to lucid. @ Norbert: Hilfe -> über KGeography -> Übersetzung what do you see? (In reply to comment #12) Hi Burkhard My translators are: Thomas Diel thd@kde.org Burkhard Lück lueck@hube-lueck.de MartinK Thomas Reitelbach ----- Version 0.5.9-l0 KDE4.4.2 But I have to tell you that I had to start the upgrade three times because the server failed or the internet connexion was to bad. So there was a reset and at the third time it worked. The previously downloaded files where still there, and I thik this could not be the fault. Maybe there are some files left from the previous distribution and/or the path is wrong. I could verify this if I knew where to look. Thank yu for your help N
(In reply to comment #13) > (In reply to comment #12) > My translators are: > > Thomas Diel > thd@kde.org > > Burkhard Lück > lueck@hube-lueck.de > > MartinK > > Thomas Reitelbach > That is the list of translators in the system catalog kio4.po shipped with Kubuntu 10.4 lucid, *not* the translator names in kgeography.po in lucid. Looks like the catalog kgeography is loaded and immediately removed (happens for me only in trunk compiled from sources), so it is a duplicate of 232918 and the first one happening with stable 4.4. But why do you have this bug and me not, both using identical distribution and version? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 232918 ***
