Description Janet 2010-05-15 19:04:38 UTC
Version: 4.4.3 (using 4.4.3 (KDE 4.4.3), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.33-4.slh.1-sidux-686

I am not sure if this is a kaddressbook or kmail issue and I'm cautious and mark this as wishlist, not as bug:

In addition to creating distribution list groups in kaddressbook it's possible to create subfolders in the personal contacts akonadi addressbook. Nice for sorting contacts into categories! But when I want to choose the addressee for a new mail I'm presented with the addressbook as a whole, the subfolders are not shown.

It would be nice to have the folders as separate categories in the addressee chooser because finding contacts that might belong together is much easier. I have a subfolder for all job contacts, one for family etc.. Those groups are not meant to be distribution lists because most of the time I only need a few (always different) contacts from that groups to write to together.

Hej,

the email address selection dialog of KMail has been redesigned
and will allow you to select email addresses from the different
subfolders in KDE 4.5
