Description S. Burmeister 2010-05-12 09:41:43 UTC
Version: 0.4.0 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

If one has more bookmarks than would fit on the screen and clicks on the bookmarks icon in the toolbar, the shade of the pop-up appears but the bookmarks are never displayed.

Expected behaviour: If there are too many to display, display a list with scrollbars.

I'm not able to reproduce this bug.
Can you test with current git because I've made many modifications about the bookmark tool button.

Can you please also test this with konqueror?
I'll be quite surprised if it cannot be reproduced there as we share the same
bookmarks and (quite) the same code to show them.
Comment 3 S. Burmeister 2010-05-12 15:03:27 UTC
Same issue with konqueror. Disabling desktop effects helps. I'll try to compile rekonq.
Comment 4 S. Burmeister 2010-05-12 15:09:56 UTC
Same issue with current git checkout. The bookmarks there, i.e. you can hover them and their URLs show up in konqueror's status-bar and if you click the browser opens the bookmark. But they are not visible.

In case that matters, I use the binary NVIDIA driver.

Is this upstream?
Comment 6 S. Burmeister 2011-01-24 10:05:02 UTC
This bug chenged. Bookmarks are shown now with qt 4.7.1 and rekonq 0.6.61.git.1295350614.

The bookmarks window is still buggy though since there is no possibility to scroll, i.e. the bookmarks that do not fit on the screen are not shown or reachable. And if one clicks on a bookmark it takes ~20 seconds until the bookmark is actually opened.
Comment 7 Andrea Diamantini 2011-02-13 23:15:24 UTC
Removing 0.7 as Target. This probably needs deeper investigations (qt/kdelibs related?)
Comment 8 Jon Burdick 2011-04-08 13:23:29 UTC
Maybe same bug, maybe different? My system has lots of bookmarks, very recent versions of KDE + Ubuntu ... "the bookmarks won't display" in the sense that after a certain point there's not enough screen space and there is no option to scroll down (known). But many times (though not invariably) all I get is a screen full of fuzzy thin horizontal lines. Hovering over most areas suddenly reveals one or two of the columns, whence I can click (and surf), or check the bookmark's properties, but the first (leftmost) column is always fuzzy. Never happened until I got a lot of bookmarks. No problem w/ Mozilla or anything else. System is up to snuff, and I'm not interested in disabling screen effects. Bug?

Would it be possible for any of you that can reproduce the bug to attach a screenshot? It’s not that clear to me what the bug is exactly or how to reproduce it.
