Version: 4.4.2 (using KDE 4.4.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I was reading an article on this page http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-a-script-for-amarok.html, and when I clicked on the link to check the suggested video (http://blip.tv/file/get/Apachelogger-InstallAmarokScripts606.ogv) the page tried to load, but ultimately failed and Kontact crashed. I'm on Kubuntu 10.04 LTS. The crash can be reproduced every time. Since a useful backtrace could not be generated, I tried to install the debugging symbols but some were not found. I saved the information collected thus far to manually report the bug, and they are as follows: Application: Kontact (kontact), signal: Segmentation fault [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0xb77ec990 (LWP 2057))] Thread 10 (Thread 0xb1827b70 (LWP 2103)): #0 0x01fdce16 in clock_gettime () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/librt.so.1 #1 0x0115c6fb in qt_gettime () at kernel/qcore_unix.cpp:111 #2 0x01161825 in QTimerInfoList::updateCurrentTime (this=0xb0f00e34) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_unix.cpp:340 #3 0x0116186a in QTimerInfoList::timerWait (this=0xb0f00e34, tm=...) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_unix.cpp:443 #4 0x0115f818 in timerSourcePrepareHelper (src=<value optimized out>, timeout=0xb18270ac) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_glib.cpp:136 #5 0x0115f8a5 in timerSourcePrepare (source=0x0, timeout=0x1fe0ff4) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_glib.cpp:169 #6 0x0549aaca in g_main_context_prepare () from /lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #7 0x0549aee9 in ?? Sorry, but your backtrace is not useful, as you are lacking debugging symbols. If you can reproduce this bug, please check here on how to get a valid backtrace: http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports Since you are using Kubuntu, you will need amarok-dbg, phonon-dbg, kdelibs5-dbg, libqt4-dbg, libxine1-dbg and libglib2.0-0-dbg. That should cover most of the crashes.
Closing for lack of feedback.
