Description Danko Ilik 2010-05-11 10:36:58 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS:                OS X
Installed from: Mac OS X (Fink) Packages

When started from Finder -> Applications -> MacPorts -> KDE4, Okular complains, when trying to open a DVI file, that it can't find the kpsewhich program. In the Details panel, one sees that this is because the PATH variable is PATH: /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin

With MacPorts, by default, all programs are located in /opt/local/bin. Hence, if I open Okular from terminal using "open -a Okular", the DVI can be opened without problems.

In my .profile the PATH variable includes /opt/local/bin, hence I don't know where Okular gets its PATH variable from.

This looks like an issue with the setup of the Macport packages;
I'd suggest you to report it to the MacPorts bug tracking system: http://www.macports.org
