Description Michal Vojan 2010-05-08 13:38:22 UTC
Version: 1.2.0 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I can't use the geolocation tool, as there is no map in the tool window. Only controls are shown and nothing else. I think it is related to gnome, which i started to use. I'll try to find out, how it works in KDE.

Hi Michal,

could you please test whether the V3 backend of Google Maps works? "Configuration->Google Maps V3"

Another test would be to load the Google Maps code which we use in Konqueror, to see whether it is a configuration issue (adblock, images disabled, javascript disabled, ...):

Thank you Michael,
version 3 works. Trying given links konqueror behaves the same, V3 works, V2 does not.
Anyway, playing with configurations I've found that even version 2 works fine when cache is disabled (unchecked Tools->HTML settings->Enable cache). I don't know how it happened since i use konqueror very rarely for only one site only with changed identification.

I think I can mark the bug as resolved.

Thanks
Michal

It happened to me as well (Ubuntu 10.04, no konqueror installed). Switching to V3 helped and since digiKam remembers the settings for V3 version, non-functional V2 is not a problem.
