I recently installed kubuntu 10.04. When I had kubuntu 8.04 I didn't have this problem.
This problem also occurs when running k3b as root.
I booted a kubuntu 8.04 dvd and used k3b 1.04. I was able to continue the multisession DVD-R. What I noticed is that when using k3b 1.04 it says it's using growisofs when getting ready to continue the multisession dvd-r. Kubuntu 10.04 says it's says it's using wodim.

I upgraded the firmware on my dvdrw to see if this would fix the writing multisession DVD-R but I still get the same error in k3b.

I installed cdrecord from http://cdrecord.berlios.de/private/cdrecord.html to see if that would fix my multisession problem but I still can't continue multisession dvd-rs. This problem does not occur with k3b 1.04 or 1.05. I'm using k3b 1.91.0 from kubuntu 10.04.
I have solved this problem. ***Resolved***
