Description Leonardo La Malfa 2010-05-07 21:44:30 UTC
Version: 4.4.2 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-22-generic

I would like to have a less cluttered system tray, so I tend to reduce the number of icons therein. One such icon is Korganizer Reminder Daemon tray icon. It appears whenever I start Kontact, also when I don't need to use Korganizer at all. I know I can start the reminder daemon at login, if I choose to, but don't need that either. Now, although I can uncheck the option to "Show Reminder Daemon in the System Tray" (Settings>Configure Kontact>Calendar>General>System Tray), it will invariably keep showing. Expected behaviour would be the icon to disappear as soon as I hit "Apply" (and keep running even if not shown, as indicated), or, at least, to not show again in the tray next time I kill it (or logout/back in), and reopen Kontact. Since it keeps sitting in the tray, instead, I think this is a bug.

It does work here (KDE SC 4.5.3, Kubuntu 10.10). I untick the tray icon option in the settings of korganizer, hit Apply and the icon vanishes from the tray.
BTW: You can set tray icons to be hidden in case you don't need them to be present all the time.

I forgot about this bug. I can confirm it does work on Debian with KDE 4.4.5, though it did not back then on Kubuntu with 4.4.2. It seems this bug report can be closed, now, if you agree.

closing then.
