Version: (using KDE 4.4.3) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages At the moment, there are two ways (that I know of) to create new global shortcuts. 1) Right-click on the K menu, Menu Editor, select application, Advanced, create shortcut Easy once you know it, but hard to find. The obvious way is to go via System Settings: 2) System Settings, Input Actions, right click(!) into the left field, New, Global Shortcut, create your shortcut. Pretty easy and where you would look first (in system settings). But these two menus have _nothing_ in common other than their ultimate goal. Both menus should look at least similar, ideally, they would be the same. The other point is that "input actions" is not an ideal name for a shortcut manager. I would suggest "manage shortcuts". PS: I have been writing & re-writing this report again and again. Somehow, I seem to be unable to get any flow into it. Sorry if it's a mess. Just tell me and I will re-do it after some sleep.
Thanks for the report Richard, are you able to re-test on Plasma 5 as I believe the current shortcut management system is quite intuitive. I've set this bug to NEEDSINFO. When you reply, please change the bug back to REPORTED so we know it's ready for investigation or RESOLVED/WORKSFORME if the issue is now resolved.

I would not call it intuitive, but with the "Edit" feature below in the Custom Shortcuts left hand field, it's discoverable. Thanks for the triage; closing.
