Version: (using KDE 4.4.2) Installed from: Unspecified Linux The Device Notifier "Remove Media" button is difficult to find and identify. Users think that there is none, and when I show it to them they forget where to find it. There was a long thread on this on the usability mailing list: http://lists.kde.org/?t=127039246200001&r=1&w=2 The problems identified were: 1) The icon does not show unless the user is hovering over the item 2) The icon is not labeled The conclusions that had been come to were these: 1) Show the "Remove Media" button icon in the non-hover state 2) Show the text "Remove Media" or "Eject" or something to that effect in the hover state
Created attachment 43312 [details] Mockup showing hover and non-hover states of media This is a mockup made by myself and another member of the mailing list. The upper item shows the proposed hover state, and the lower three items show the non-hover state. Note the use of the word "Eject" is makeshift, I expect that a different word or phrase will likely be used (and localized). Thanks.

Thank you Markus, I filed it here: http://forum.kde.org/brainstorm.php#idea87620_page1 As you are not a Please dev please refrain from resolving Plasma bugs as invalid. I have no problem with you attacking me constantly on the Usability mailing list, but try not to take your personal feelings of me to bugzilla. Thanks.
Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
