Description Bryn Lee 2010-05-05 11:08:50 UTC
Version: 0.9.2 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-21-generic

Sorry to contact you this way but I don't know if this is a bug, accident of [other].
Ynys Môn (Anglesey) in north west Cymru (Wales) is totally missing along with other bits of land & most information.
Also the name for the country of Cymru (Wales) is also missing.
This isn't the first time a modern map maker has made this mistake when it has come to ignoring one of the oldest races on the planet.
Last time the EU government showed how racist they were by deliberately leaving the whole country of Cymru (Wales) off the map.

If this is just a bug & you need help in filling in Cymraeg (Welsh) place names/land marks I will be more than happy to help.

You are right. Our coastline vector data is a bit inaccurate.

We should try to import other/more accurate coastline vector data into marble, but I'm not sure if this would result into performance decreases.

Currently we are using the coastline data from the MWDB II set. We should investigate, if we could use more accurate data instead, however, this could require a more efficient rendering code.

Perhaps we could extract data from the OpenStreetMap project. That could allow us to do a colored political map.
