Version: 1.0 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-21-generic In System Settings->Desktop Theme Details, I can't change the KDE theme (between Air and Oxygen). Apply button still disabled. However, I can do it if I change some value below.
You don't change the Plasma theme here, you change it in System Settings > Appearance > Style > Workspace.
The System Settings > Appearance > Style > Workspace way it's also correct. And the bug is there too. I have Kubuntu 10.04 RC.
Yes this Desktop Theme Details module is very confusing and nobody can figure out how to use it. I hope it'll be worked on for later KDE releases and that everything will be at the same place. In System Settings->Desktop Theme Details you choose a global theme to base your desktop theme on. You cannot apply a global theme, this is done as Christoph wrote in System Settings > Appearance > Style > Workspace If someone was able to design a way to combine those 2 modules or to improve the Desktop Theme Details I would implement it. Shouldn't this be a usability bug? RESOLVED LATER means it'll be forgotten.
