Description asdinnie 2010-04-27 17:31:56 UTC
Version: 2.4.0 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

After logging in, I run KPPP (usually within the first 5 minutes).
The KDESU dialog box comes up and the SU password is entered. So far so good.

Once the "OK" button is selected, Plasma stalls (and all other apps are unaccessable) for a period (up to 15 seconds). This stall happens until the following error msg comes up in a plasma error dialog box:
"Sorry - Plasma Workspace
/usr/share/applications/kde4/Kppp.desktop
Either KLauncher is not running anymore, or it failed to start the application."

I think you have to then select the "OK" button before Plasma unfreezes?

It happens consistently every time I run KPPP. The bug has been around for most of the recent versions of KDE 4.x IIRC.

No permission changes have been made from the defaults from my install.

More detail can be found in the following Launchpad bug:

Hi

Apologies for the delay in responding. My emails from KDE must have gone astray...

I use neither KPPP nor Kubuntu any more.
So I can't add any more information nor update the status regarding this reported bug.
Sorry.

Regards,
Andrew
