Version: 0.80.2 (using KDE 4.3.5) OS: Linux Installed from: openSUSE RPMs Recent versions of kopete fail in case when user wants to send a message to a contact which is not in contacts list and there is no need to add a contact in it. E.g. when user tries to send a message to a e-shop manager to find out some information. The only way to send a message to a contact is to add it to a contact list and the to find the contact in it. And if a contact requires an authorization, it will not be shown in a list and user has to remember a nickname of the new contact and it's too much work to send a single message. I think, it's totally wrong from the usability point of view.
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
