Version: 1.0 (using 4.3.5 (KDE 4.3.5) "release 0", openSUSE 11.2) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop If there is a way to do it, then it is way, way, way too hard to find the mechanism. If there is no way to do it, then someone needs a good head thump. This *MUST* be added to personal settings/desktop where one would expect -- even if you keep some other place to do it.
This is where it is to be expected: right click on the desktop -> settings -> mouse actions. It is a plasma feature and not a kwin feature, so it has to be in Plasma settings.
I did actually go there. I get "Desktop Settings - Plasma Workspace". There is nothing else close. I can select "Type:" I can select "Name:" (though I cannot imagine why -- I named them all in "Multiple Desktops - System Settings"), I can select a theme (whatever in heck that is supposed to mean), and I can fiddle wall paper. I can *NOT* modify this silly woops-you-just-went-far-far-away feature. So, it is not there and it is not under System Settings/Desktop (where I really _WOULD_ expect it to be).
P.S. there is no obvious way to distinguish "Plasma" from "KDE".
it can't really be under systemsettings, it's a per-containment setting. anyways, you don't see it in the containment's settings because you're using kde 4.3 and it was added in kde 4.4. upgrade. :)
So I am finding myself suddenly jumping all over the place (I have and use 12 desk tops) and there is no way to disable this misfeature until OpenSuSE goes with KDE4.4? And when it does, I cannot simply say, "Stop doing that" because it is individually set for each desk top? Please, folks, *please* do a little bit more research into the consequences of your decisions. Thank you. :(
