-- Information about the crash:
This is the duplicate a few minutes after another restart.  Same thing happened.  After login--and I remembered this time, but it happened the 1st time too--I had just minimized Firefox when the crash occurred.
Also, the background after login--which had the lovely blue Kubuntu splash on startup--turned solid back behind Firefox.
I will give up at this point and go to my dual boot of Win XP and check bug reports from there.  
I hope someone has a fix for this....  I am still a newbie so this report is about the max I can do about it.
