Description heiko.pawelczyk 2010-04-17 00:26:11 UTC
Version: 1.0-svn3 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-21-generic

I installed Ubuntu Lucid Lynx Beta 2. With Ubuntu Karmic Koala everything was well.
When I start Kaffeine, I get that screen, informing me of a crash. Wether I symply close it or click the Button to restart the crashed program doesn't make a difference. The main Kaffeine Window seems to work normally. When i switch on TV, I get the current programm information and epg works. I just don't see a picture and hear no sound. The instant recording function works well, so that I can view the programm with a different viewer.

"informing me of a crash" <-- can you please paste the back trace you get there?

Hi Christoph,

I'm not sure whether the original contributor ever resolved the issue.
I have exactly the same problem after a fresh install following a replacement mother board. AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core processor 4000+, 1Gb mem
Record works okay, but no live or playback.
Xine works perfectly, but I prefer Kaffeine.
I got the following when run from cmd line:
paul@zaphod2:~$ kaffeine

This bug is too old, for a version < 1.3. Closing it, as the latest version is 2.0.1, and lots of things changed since version 1.2.x, including the usage of VLC as video display backend, support for DVB-T2 and ISDB-T via libVLC, etc.

You may check on the upstream version and see if the bug was solved. The README file contains instructions about how to compile it. You can find it at our git repository:

https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kaffeine.git

If you find similar issues with version 2.0.1, please re-open.
