Version: 1.5 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-21-generic I cannot disable and make any changes to kwalletmanager. It nofifies: Error opening wallet The name org.kde.kwalletd was not provided by any .service files. When I try to run kwalletmanager from terminal : root@KompNaGorze:/usr/bin# kwalletmanager <unknown program name>(4848)/: KUniqueApplication: Cannot find the D-Bus session server: "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken." <unknown program name>(4847)/: KUniqueApplication: Pipe closed unexpectedly. I use ubuntu Linux 2.6.32-21
Reproduced. This happens if kwalletd is killed or dies during the initial wallet setup. The wizard should check for dbus errors while trying to get the default wallet name.
@Will: Do you mean that if KWallet dies during the initial wallet setup, a user won't be able to use it afterwards? (not sure if I understood correctly)
If kwalletd is not available during the initial wallet setup, the client library code gets the dbus error text "The name org.kde.kwalletd was not provided by any .service files" back when it tries to get the wallet name from kwalletd, but the problem becomes permanent because the string is saved as homewallet in kwalletrc.
