Version: (using KDE 4.4.2) OS: Linux Installed from: openSUSE RPMs As shown in this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=234079 print preview generation process might take a long time even for documents which look simple at the first sight or when there are problems accessing system printing service. During this time Okular locks UI for unpredictable period of time. So it would be much better if ocular did show preview window immediately after calling it from menu and ps preview file generation process could be shown as progress bar inside this window (generation process could be run in background thread) - working 'cancel' button which could terminate this process if it takes too long could also give much help.
I don't know if it's worth fiddling around with this... Wouldn't Calligras print preview dialogue be a better alternative? It seems to be much faster and also UI-wise nicer... Probably it needs to be moved from Calligra project to kdelibs, but then it would also be available to all other KDE applications. Could someone help me find the right place where this could be filed as a wish? Would be awesome! Best regards, P.
