Version: 1.0.0 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-21-generic For a while now, while using alpha and now beta versions of Kubuntu 10.4, if I don't enter my password quickly enough (say, like in 10 or 15 seconds) to let Kopete access the KWallet when logging in, Kopete will chose to prompt me for my account passwords instead, claiming that the password used must've been wrong, and that I need to resupply it. If I just close those dialogs and shut down (or kill -9) kopete, the next time I run it, it will still prompt me for account passwords, ignoring those that are found (I guess, unless they've been removed?) in the kwallet. Reproducing it (at least here) is simple: Set up accounts, choose to remember the passwords in kwallet, log out, log in, and when prompted by kwallet to provide the master password so that Kopete may access the wallet, wait for Kopete to instead prompt directly for passwords. Cheers, Daniel :)
I can confirm it on Fedora 13 beta and Fedora rawhide.
Confirmed. Gentoo and 4.4.3 release.
I can confirm this since KE SC 4.x series. Even on 4.5 RC1 has the same bug what is one kind show stopper for kopete + kwallet combination. Kopete should not try to connect until it gets the password from Kwallet There are few dublicated reports of this bug: 234418 236964 238402 243580
