Version: git-current (using KDE 4.3.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled From Sources After I remove my .kde/share/config/amarokrc and .kde/share/apps/amarok, Amarok (git-current) has "Show Splashscreen" = false. That's odd, because it seems to be a feature that you'd set to "true" in the default config. And indeed: amarokconfig.kcfg has "Show Splashscreen" as <default>true</default>. When I create a new user on my Kubuntu 9.10 host, and let him run the old v2.2.0 Amarok, the same thing happens: splash screen disabled. It seems the splash screen is disabled for all new Amarok users, but I think that's not intentional?
It turns out that this is a decision of Kubuntu. It is controlled by this file: /usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kde4-profile/default/share/config/amarokrc in Kubuntu package 'kubuntu-default-settings'.
