Description James Dent 2010-04-11 03:38:25 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Archlinux Packages

As per the attached screenshot.
A few fonts (FreeSerif, ) are rendered as highly pixellated and frequently overlapping when used as the default for pages that do not specify a font of their own.

This improper rendering is also visible in the font selection combo-box used in Rekonq's configuration dialog.

QtWebKit (Arora) does not seem to suffer from this problem.

Cannot duplicate the problem... The same site renders fine on my machine which happens to be an ArchLinux box as well. I remember having some layout issues due to font sizes when I was using QtWebKit from the official Qt 4.6 package, but nothing like what your screenshot shows. However, in the upcoming standalone release of QtWebKit v2.0, I neither see this problem you are reporting nor the layout issues I used to encounter before.

Anyhow, if you can try out the weekly builds of QtWebKit 2.0 from
http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKitJournal#WeeklyBuildWeek12
and see if that solves your problem or wait until QtWebKit 2.0 is released in May and reopen your ticket if the problem persists.
