Description 2010-04-01 14:42:25 UTC
Version: 1.13.2 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Mandriva Linux release 2010.0 (Official) for x86_64)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.12-desktop-3mnb

In kmail configuration window, in tab Appearance->System Tray, i enable the option "Enable system tray icon" and choose the option "Only show kmail in system tray if there are unread messages".

Run kmail and appears the systray icon,if for some reason i click in the kmail systray icon it simply moves its position to appear in the most right position, near "System Taskbar".

This a strange behaviour since the systray icon should not change position...

Interesting - perhaps not kmails fault. Can you provide a screenshot of a misplaced kmail icon?
Comment 2 2010-04-04 07:44:48 UTC
I dont get why you need a screenshot, since the kmail icon simply changed its position when clikcing in it, that is simply enough since thats already a buggy behaviour.

Anyway like i said the kmail icon goes all to the right, and stays side by side with the notification icon, that is side byside with the clock.

I also sais the steps to reproduce the bug, maybe would be more usefull if you could check it.

Confirmed. The icon is obviously recreated when the kmail instance is shown. That makes it appear again at the most right position after it disappears shortly.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
