Description niburu1 2010-03-31 20:33:41 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

I believe the same thing happens in Kate and Kwrite, namely, when selecting text from right-to-left and bottom-to-top the cursor or screen sometimes jumps us causing incorrect selection. This is not caused by moving the cursor beyond the viewable text above (as one would expect in this case for the screen to scroll up).

I'm not the only one observing this behavior: http://forum.kde.org/posting.php?mode=reply&f=20&t=86937

I confirm that I've seen the same issue (Fedora 12 rpms) for some time. Selecting from top left to bottom right works. It's almost impossible to select from bottom right to top left, due to this behaviour. I can't say with any certainty when this started, but it could well be from the start of 4.4.0.

This is a KatePart issue.

Sorry, cannot reproduce, and we had no other reports about this issue.
It very likely is fixed.

If you still have this, please provide a detailed way how to reproduce. For instance: do you use the mouse or the keyboard? And so on...
