Description Parameshwara Bhat 2010-03-31 03:58:17 UTC
Version: 1.0-svn3 (using 4.4.1 (KDE 4.4.1) "release 227", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.2)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31.12-0.1-desktop

I have a VCD which xine-ui plays as VCDO,but not as VCD.If I try to play as VCD from xine-ui,it is crashed

If I try to play this in Kaffeine with 'play vcd' it crashes.(So,the error message says)

Obviously,Kaffeine cannot play VCDO format, whatever that means.
Secondly,Kaffeine error message comes as if kaffeine has crashed, but kaffeine would not really disappear, and is also responsive.

I have another PC where kaffeine's stock version for Opensuse 11.2 is installed. There, kaffeine can play this VCD ( which is in VCDO format),but not in the latest kaffeine on my personal machine.

One more piece of info is this VCD is not playable by Media Player 9 in Windows XP.And VLC player cannot produces a horrible sound playing it,though the video is fine.

Why is the bug still unconfirmed? There are already two bug-reports on that.

If you need any inputs, please tell here. But please move on with bug-squashing.

This bug is too old, for a version < 1.3. Closing it, as the latest version is 2.0.1, and lots of things changed since version 1.2.x, including the usage of VLC as video display backend, support for DVB-T2 and ISDB-T via libVLC, etc.

You may check on the upstream version and see if the bug was solved. The README file contains instructions about how to compile it. You can find it at our git repository:

https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kaffeine.git

If you find similar issues with version 2.0.1, please re-open.
