- Are the file you are draggin special (which kind of file, which permissions) ?
- Are both paths writable ?
- Does this happen if you drag-and-drop files from/to another locations ?
Regards

Comment 2 Chuck Brigermann 2010-03-31 16:38:57 UTC
Hello,
The file was a simple Open Office .odt file. Not sure of the
permissions since I picked it randomly, but I would guess that it had
all r/w privileges based on where it was. I used this file to
recreate the problem so I could submit the bug report. I have a lot
of additional information that I can give you.

When I first encountered the problem it would hang the system
completely. I reinstalled Mandriva 2010 with the Gnome desktop, then
installed Dolphin. I ran Dolphin from the command line and received
additional error information when Dolphin died. Fortunately the
system did not hang using this method. The same messages were
repeated numerous times. The messages were:
usr/bin/dolphin (4093) Error in thread 3037935312 Unsupported
operation (2) Invalid Model

usr/bin/dolphin (4093) org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown -
The name org.kde.nepomuk.services.nepomukstorage was not provided by
any .service files

usr/bin/dolphin (4093) Invalid iterator

Further testing also provided the following:
Dragging and dropping of files from our Windows network server is the
only
time this occurred. Dragging and dropping within a single desktop was
not a problem.

The problem does not exist using Nautilus.

Very interesting is the fact that the problem does not occur using
Kubuntu/Dolphin on the very same computer and the very same network.

Hope this helps. If you need further information, please contact me.
