Description Ivan Rancati 2010-03-30 12:11:30 UTC
Application: systemsettings (1.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.1 (KDE 4.4.1)
Qt Version: 4.6.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-17-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu lucid (development branch)

-- Information about the crash:
I had the System Settings - Add and remove Software - Software updates window open, and I noticed that the 5 updates it suggested were listed as "The following packages have been kept back" by apt-get upgrade.
So I left the window open and issued
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
from Konsole. It is possible that there was a lock problem on the apt cache, since after a while the System settings applet crashed.
This is with Kubuntu 10.04

 -- Backtrace:

Comment 1 Ivan Rancati 2010-03-30 12:12:46 UTC
Quick note: I did not upgrade any packages from either the applet or Konsole.
I cannot seem to repro the crash with the same steps
Comment 2 Dario Andres 2010-03-31 14:40:29 UTC
- Which KPackageKit version do you have ? This is likely to be related to bug 225404.
Regards
Comment 3 Ivan Rancati 2010-03-31 15:05:06 UTC
ivan@phonebox:~$ kpackagekit -v
Qt: 4.6.2
KDE Development Platform: 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2)
KPackageKit: 0.5.4

By the way, apologies for reporting my kde as 4.4.1.
It's the 4.4.2 that comes with Kubuntu 10.04
