Description Philipp Hullmann 2010-03-28 17:32:50 UTC
Version: 2.3.0 (using 4.4.1 (KDE 4.4.1) "release 228", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.2)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop

Connected an empty iPod and asked amarok to copy my music collection (about 4500 files) to the new device. This resulted in a ridiculous number (~150 running at the same time) of kio_file processes being launched (all of which fight for access to the same disk partition) and pushed the load average to over 150. There should be an upper limit to the number of these processes. Also is there any point in launching more than one, since transfer rates are probably limited by access to the hard disk anyway?
