Version: 3.1 (using KDE 4.3.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages If you type in a password including one or more umlauts, the kdesudo program tells you, that this is the wrong password. If you use sudo [program] via console, everything is nice. The normal sudo command supports umlauts in passwords. If kdesudo is a graphical front-end for sudo, it should support the same features like sudo.
this is the same issue as bug 141749, only for another product. anyway, do you really mean kdesudo, not kdesu in sudo mode? if so, then you need to report it to the author directly - kdesudo is maintained externally.
I mean the kdesudo command, from the same called standard package of karmic. I have no kdesu at all on my system nor can i find "kdesu" in the packagekit/via apt. I don't mean the bug you posted. I can log in with umlauts in my password into kdm via the default prompt, but I cant use the same password in kdesudo prompts for example if I open some System-settings.
kdesu is a bit hidden, but you certainly have it. anyway, as i said, kdesudo is outside kde's responsibility. please find the upstream (which might be kubuntu itself) and file a bug there.
Ok, thanks a lot! Sorry for the wrong report.
