Version: unknown (using 4.4.1 (KDE 4.4.1), Chakra) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-ARCH After several attempts of printing an image from digikam, i had to give up. It is simply not possible with KDE. I use the standard print dialog I print on a 10x15cm photo paper, printer set to full bleed 600 dpi color. The printer is a HP dj5550 and drivers are hpijs In the print dialog, i tried to scale the image to a size fitting the paper (10x10.26cm), but then the image is cut on the sides, while vertically pressed. Same result printing to pdf with a custom page size of 10x15cm. Then I tried printing to a 10x15cm pdf, using the default setting of adjusting the image to the paper. This gave a nice pdf. Then I tried printing to the printer with same printer settings, but using the default adjustment. This resulted in cups sending something else than a 10x15 adjusted image to the printer. Conclusion: I can not print a photo to a 10x15cm photo paper, full bleed, with KDE SC 4. This was possible, and easy, with KDE 3 series. So this is a regression.
The Images tab is not part of the standard Qt or KDE print dialog, so must have been added by Digikam. Reassigning.
Do you use image editor or print wizard from kipi-plugins ? Gilles Caulier
Angelo, Do you see this entry about printing options ? Gilles Caulier
I will do some tests asap, Anders knows the pi code since he was one who developed old pw iirc. Anyway which version of digikam and kipi-plugins are we talking about? I didn't have any problems in printing 10x15cm photos full bleed using my HP in mageia 1 and digikam 1.9.0, until last ghostscript, but my problem is releated to output colors. The cut of a part of image is because the "keep ratio" option is checked, if that is disabled should work instead (if bug-less :D ) There's a but though, i don't know if other printers got it, but certainly HP has, i can configure all using print-assistant o print-images, but at last i have to confirm again some print options because they were not passed correctly to cups driver. Moreover there are some QT open issue (i reported upstream) concerning the QT printer config structures and more configured printers (such as page layout etc)...
Angelo, Anders, John, Whats news about this entry ? Gilles Caulier
As far as i can say i can print. I need more info to understand if there is a problem in digikam or kipi plugins. 10x15 cm is my default printing here and i use a HP photosmart premium.
I have now tested with my hp 5550, and got the following results: * scaling is respected, that is the size of the printed image is as expected * autorotate does not rotate a landscape image so that it is printed with the long side of the image along the long side of the paper * landscape mode in printer driver is equal to portrait + autorotate, image is not rotated and oddly placed on the A4 paper i used for this test. * landscape mode in printer options + autorotate on is similar again
Created attachment 73885 [details] test results Here are my test prints, with the settings written on them...
hmm are you talking about image editor? Anyway i saw problems with autorotation in print-images plugin, i think there is a regression and i have to investigate better there...
My tests was done from digikam album view.

I have stopped using digikam, because of its lack of safe file management, therefore I can not help. Also, I have not used digikams editor since years, because it lacks abilities to use masks and copy editing between images. -- mandag den 3. august 2020 07.01.37 CEST skrev du: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=232391 > > --- Comment #14 from caulier.gilles@gmail.com --- > digiKam 7.0.0 stable release is now published: > > https://www.digikam.org/news/2020-07-19-7.0.0_release_announcement/ > > We need a fresh feedback on this file using this version. > > Best Regards > > Gilles Caulier
