Description hermes.trismegistos 2010-03-26 00:02:10 UTC
Version: 1.12.4 (using KDE 4.3.5)
Compiler: gcc (Gentoo 4.3.4 p1.0, pie-10.1.5) 4.3.4
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Whenever the network is detached and mails are fetched by KMail a confirmation dialog pops up which tells me:

Keine Verbindung zu Rechner pop3.yyy.zz: Netzwerk nicht erreichbar.

(No connection to host pop3.yyy.zz: Network unreachable.)

This dialog pops up for each mail account and has to be confirmed by clicking 'OK'.

The same does apply to KOrganizer which opens a confirmation dialog for each external calender it can not reach.

I expect those applications to:
  1. either give a hint as a status information pop up on the system tray (which fades away after a few seconds without confirmation)
  2. or just keep calm and wait till a connection is available again.
