(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konqueror
Version: 2.1.1 (using KDE 2.1.1 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Debian Package 4:2.1.1-2 (testing/unstable)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (Debian release)
OS: Linux 2.4.3-pre3 i686
OS/Compiler notes:

Hello...

I use Trustees-ACL (http://trustees.sourceforge.net). When I give write-access for user "solloz" for the directory /home by Trustees-ACL but when the files in /home have have a chmod 644 any owned by another user I can't change the permissons of the files by using the file-Properties in the Konqueror becurse Konqueror checks by opening the Properties-window the permissons and don't allow to change the permission when the file haven't the right chmod.

So can you change the permission check ? Allow for all User to change the permissions and check only then when the user press apply. If Konqueror can write to the file then it's good when not then bring a error-message.

Thanks very much !
