Description Ansgar 2010-03-22 14:36:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Description:
It is possible to switch between different themes for emoticons, but not to disable them. As a workaround I thought about creating a "empty" theme, but failed to do so (see Bug#231770). In any case I would expect a nice checkbox to do so.

How to reproduce:
1. Start systemsettings
2. Select Appearance
3. Select Emoticons
There is no way to disable emoticons.

That probably has to be fixed in the individual applications that support emoticons; I know KMail has an option for this. So it would make sense to report bugs/wishes for the other applications.

But I agree that a central option in systemsettings that applications can follow would be nice, too.

This KCM was removed in the transition from Plasma 5.19.5 to 5.20.0 https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-desktop/commit/3cd728de38b771c84c0cfdf68eac84715637e76f
