Version: (using KDE 4.3.4) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Description: When creating a new emoticon theme, there is a list of different types of themes, but no explaination what is the difference between these different types. It is not obvious to me what a means to create a "Pidgin emoticon theme" instead of a "XMPP Emoticons Theme", "Adium Emoticons Theme" or "Kde Emoticons Theme". How to reproduce: 1. Start systemsettings 2. Select Appearance 3. Select Emoticons 4. Click on "New Theme...". 5. Enter some name and click "OK". There is no explaination what the difference between the different types of themes is. Note: a. "KDE" is spelled as "Kde" in the dialog after step 5.

sorry for taking so long to respond, but today I had a bit of time to look at this but what kind of description could I add? because a kde theme is a theme supported by kde apps, a pidgin theme is a theme supported by pidgin, an adium theme is a theme supported by adium, an xmpp theme is a theme supported by clients that supports the jabber XEP-0038 format, the last one is not very clear but for the others it seems redundant

But how is one supposed to solve that... Maybe a text can be added explaining that there are different formats which work in different applications...
Hi, Sorry for the late reply. What confuses me is the following: I see a list of themes without any indication what "type" these are. However, when I create a new theme I get asked for a "type" (Pidgin, KDE, Adium, XMPP, ...), but there is no indication what the difference between them is: 1. What kind of themes are displayed in the list before? Just the KDE themes? If only KDE themes, this is a strange place to create other types of themes that cannot be used here. 2. Where can I use the different types? I know Pidgin and Adium are IM clients so I guess these can be used there (still strange to create them here as I assume these applications have their own dialog for this), but I think it would be nice to point to these applications for users who do not know them. The same goes for XMPP themes (does Kopete support these?).
