How do you know that "K3b tries to rip CD data tracks"? Could you explain more what the actual problem is? Does it hangs or crash? If it crashes please paste the backtrace.

Created attachment 42419 [details] k3b ripping an unselected data file The attached image shows K3b ripping the grayed out track 12 (a data track). Track 12 was not selected. The progress bar is no longer moving. K3b is not responding.
I can see that track 12 is non-selectable (the data track). Is track 13 also non-selectable?
That is correct. Track 13 in not selected either.
Can it be selected or is it disabled?
I can select track 13 because it is not disabled like track 12.
